Darby Anderson - Farm Manager
After graduating from Allegheny College in PA with a degree in Environmental Studies, Darby participated in MSU Tollgate Farm’s Sustainable Agriculture Apprenticeship. She continued her farming career at Tollgate as the Field Manager and then as the CSA Production Manager. In 2021, Darby became Tollgate’s Sustainable Agriculture Instructor. She managed 5 acres of diversified vegetables, Summer and Fall CSA programs, and facilitated the Sustainable Agriculture Apprenticeship.
In 2022, Darby joined the Student Organic Farm. She finds it exciting that her position allows her to share her love of production agriculture and sustainable food systems with students from all different backgrounds and fields of study.
Student Crew
Every year the SOF hires a part-time crew of outstanding undergraduate students from multiple majors to assist with managing the farm. Our crew is the heart and soul of the farm. Crew members contribute to every aspect of the farm from seeding transplants to harvest and delivery to campus dining.
